Cancelation, Rescheduling, and Refund Policy
If you need to cancel a program or service, please contact us as soon as possible. We understand that schedules and situations can change – and we’ll always do our best to accommodate your needs!
Alternatively, if you need to reschedule a program or service, please simply call us and we’ll reschedule your upcoming service visit to the next ten (10) business days. You can repeat this process until that particular service visit matches your schedule or needs.
If you cancel a service before the first service has been delivered, we will cancel the program or service with only a small administrative cost of $19.00 and will provide a full refund of the remaining funds within a thirty (30) day period.
However, if you cancel a service after the first service or without reasonable notice of cancelation, we will only provide a partial refund (see ‘Single Visit Cost’ below).
Single Visit Cost
The first and second visit to any new customers lawn requires extra time and extra product to get the weeds under control and nurture the lawn back to health appropriately. In addition, during the Spring and early Summer months this extra work can be compounded by weeds pollinating, cross-pollinating, and rhizomes spreading more vigorously than other periods of the year. In effect, the first few visits require the most work, products, and also our greatest mindfulness to each client’s lawn to put that particular yard in order and bring about transformative results in under 45 days. It’s for that reason that Green Flag’s ‘single visit cost’ is more expensive with respect to a program – where that program cost is hypothetically divided evenly between all its visits! In other words, the first and second visits are the most expensive visits for all of Green Flags programs and thus also for a client who decides to cancel that program early i.e. before its completion.
Where a particular homeowner decides to cancel a program, the cost will revert automatically to Green Flags single visit cost for the reasons outlined above. This is only applied where a customer decides to cancel a program after a particular visit has already been completed (or as Green Flags sales/servicing contract indicates – without reasonable notice of cancellation). In these instance, where the cancelation occurs without reasonable notice or after the completion of one (1) visit, the clients will be charged a minimum of a $119.00 ‘single visit cost’ and a $19.00 non-refundable administration fee; where the client cancels without reasonable notice or after two (2) visits, the client will be charged a minimum of ‘two’ $119.00 ‘single visit cost(s) (i.e. $238.00) and a $19.00 non-refundable administration fee; and so on and so forth. Thus, all cancellations will revert to a single visit cost designation for each visit without reservation.
Nevertheless, the single visit cost is not the same as a single treatment and the price of the former will not be substituted for the price of the latter. In other words, the single visit cost is primarily for canceling clients only and not the same as receiving a single treatment i.e. single aeration treatment or some other treatment. This distinction must be brought to light because Green Flags programs usually deliver the most value up-front whereas a single treatment does not have the same impact or results. For example, in many cases Green Flags programs come with multiple treatments on the first visit(s) whereas obviously a single treatment is not delivering the same amount of value.
Unlimited Service Calls (Green Flags Service Guarantee)
We want you to be completely satisfied with our services, and we’ll do everything we can to ensure that you’re happy with the results. Where the customer is not happy and communicates this to Green Flag, we offer ‘unlimited service calls’, which provides as many extra treatments as is required to correct any issues and bring the lawn to where our customers expect it to be. In other words, if you have any concerns or issues with a service, please let us know and we’ll do our best to make it right immediately – and for free!
Green Flag guarantees each of our programs with ‘unlimited service calls’ (for free) until the lawn reaches the clients’ expectations! This can be for instances, where the performance of our service technicians was less-than-perfect. Conversely, this could also be where the customer would simply like extra treatment(s) to get the lawn to reach their expectations. The guarantee simply requires the client to call or email Green Flag – and once we have received this communication – we’ll schedule that client for a free reservicing within five (5) business days (note: customers outside of Calgary may take longer to reservice and this guarantee does not come with the unlimited service calls for those outside of Calgary. See Out-Of-Town customers conditions below).
Finally, Green Flags guarantee of unlimited service calls only lasts until the end of each season (i.e. September 15 of each year). That means, Green Flags guarantees do not stretch over to another season – ever!
Service Availability
Our website is only intended for use by homeowners in Calgary, Alberta, and a handful of selected areas around the city.
Out-of-Town Homeowners
Due to Green Flag being a Calgary company, we have three conditions for out-of-town clients. First, all program prices will come with an extra $25.00 transportation related costs over and above the prices listed on this website; Second, we only provide one (1) free extra reservicing visit for any complaints about results or services that we rendered; and thirdly, all scheduling may come with ‘extra time’ constraints, which means that for complaints, reservicing requests, and even rescheduling, Green Flag may take extra time over-and-above the standards listed in this policy.
The Homeowners Status
By submitting an order through our website you declare that: i) you are legally capable and have capacity to enter into a binding contract; ii) you are a homeowner in the serviced areas within Calgary, Alberta, or in the handful of selected areas around the city; iii) you are connecting to our website from Calgary, Alberta, or one of the handful of selected areas around the city that Green Flag Services; iv) you are at least 18 years or older; and v) you understand that Green Flag will send you text messages and emails for: appointment reminders, approximation of arrival times, collection of reviews, and finally advertisements and promotions that we host.
Green Flags Subscription and Contract Agreement
After the homeowner places an order on Green Flag’s website, the person will be sent an email from us acknowledging that we have received your order (“Acknowledgement”). However, please understand that in contract law “Acceptance” and “Performance” are also necessary elements to completing a contractual obligation. In effect, just because your order has been Acknowledged does NOT mean that your order has been Accepted by Green Flag. In fact, your order on this website constitutes an offer to us to purchase the services by subscribing to our Services, subject to these terms and conditions, but also not limited to such issues as: previously unpaid services, legal issues, competition issues, right of refusal, and any other issues that Green Flag deems to be within its power as a service provider to limit or flat-out reject to a particular homeowner. Therefore, the contract between Green Flag and the homeowner will only be formed once Green Flag accepts the offer by sending you an email that confirms that your order has been accepted (“Confirmation”). Conversely, we may NOT decide to accept the homeowners order, which is our sole discretion as a Calgary, Alberta, service provider – particularly where outstanding issues outlined above still remain. In these instances, Green Flag holds a right to refuse performance of such a program or service on this website on the basis that the contract may be null or void where the necessary elements to complete this contract are missing to begin with. Where this occurs, Green Flag (as indicated above) will charge a small $19.00 administrative fee and refund the remaining amount.
Language Substitutions
The word ‘homeowner’ can be substituted with leaser, renter, commercial interest, corporation and any other vehicle, which that particular client operates under who has interest in having Green Flag service their lawn.
The words ‘new season(s)’ means Springtime (usually around between April 15 and May 15 for the pragmatic reason that the soil ‘generally’ dethaws during this period and photosynthesis begins. and extends all the way to September 15. Therefore, each new season will start in the Springtime of a given year and end on the same year in September 15. As a result, any paid for program or service from Green Flag will be ‘within’ a particular season and NOT extend over and onto another season (i.e. the next new season).
Green Flags Subscription Services
Green Flag is an automatic subscription service company in the lawn care space. This means that there is no need to deal with an abundance of sales calls or emails. Instead, you can relax and know your lawn will be taken care of without having to call and book each new season. Of course, Green Flag does not won’t our clients to feel blindsided with each new seasons automatic subscription and so you’ll be notified both by email and text before we come out to complete the service(s), which will always allow you (the homeowner) to reach out, reschedule, skip a year, or cancel altogether without any obligation or charge.
Nevertheless, it goes without saying that any homeowner signing up for a program on this website, at their doorstep, or someplace else, will be charged for the initial amount at checkout (or with some contractual signature agreement), followed by recurring charges at each outset of each new season unless otherwise cancelled by that particular homeowner. Thus, by entering into this agreement, you (the homeowner) acknowledge that your subscription has an initial and recurring payment feature and you recognize and accept responsibility for all recurring charges prior to deactivation.
Green Flag will attempt to keep the renewal price the same each season but where a variation in price occurs the change will be no greater 10% of the previous years price on each new seasons renewal of a program or service subscription. This variation is necessary and reasonable as Canada’s economy is always changes and inflation has become the new norm.
Furthermore, upon each new season there is absolutely no obligation to proceed with the automatically subscription before we’ve commence a program or service. (Nonetheless, as indicated above – once Green Flag has begun the services associated with one of our programs or services, the homeowner who proceeds to cancel services thereafter will be subject to our policy of single visit cost(s) and also the cancelation administrative fee of $19.00).
Finally, Green Flag reserves the right at our discretion not to renew your services at anytime without having to give any reasons for our decision.
